Back in Black

Sorry for the lack of posts--I just returned from an incredible three days in Mexico's wine country.

My (ir)regular posts will resume this week.

Hope everyone is doing well and weathering the economic storm as bravely as possible.

Anyone out there see any silver linings?

  1. Welcome back and hope you had a great time!

Silver lining: less than two weeks until Election Day and we've mailed in our overseas ballots a few weeks ago . . .

I realise this is not a political blog but have a strong feeling (fervent hope) that the winning candidate will immediately start addressing issues on America's economic outlook . . .

and . . . . although some of these dumps in LB weren't worth the original pre-bubble price, there have been rumours swirling that lenders might be forced to begin adhering to the "30%" rule . . . good news for those of us who didn't leap into the frenzy and lose our heads!

  2. Good to have you back. No silver lining yet. Please say something funny, cause it is really pissing me off that despite the global economic meltdown, a few stupid people are still paying top dollar for real estate in the LBC. Sadly, this plus the ridiculous bailout plan could prop up this fraudulent system for years.

  3. L~

I do consciously avoid politics on this blog, and not because I don't have strong political opinions or because I'm unaware of how crucial this election is to our economic well being, but because I want to ensure the sheer level of hatred, fear, and ugliness I have seen during this election cycle doesn't invade this blog, of which I am so proud.

Frankly, I can't wait for this election to be over.

We have a lot of healing to do as a nation.
