I liked your comparison to the vintage ca...Spot on! I liked your comparison to the vintage car, and you're exactly right about that, too. I used to be really into cars and hot-rodding, and every time I'd see some guy with gold-plated, engraved float bowls on his Holley carbs tell me his car was "worth" $25,000, all I could do was laugh to myself. I gave up trying to talk sense into these guys because they just wouldn't have it. It's the same with houses that you "hot-rodded". I don't care how much you put into it, if *I* don't like what you did to it, it's a liability to *me*, and I'll have to tear it all out. When we were looking at houses this last year, my girlfriend was exceptionally good at seeing through the BS sales pitch the realtors tried to give us. She'd rattle off the "improvements" made to the houses, ask me how much it would cost to "fix" it, and then we'd start knocking that amount off the asking price.<br />The realtors, like my hot rod buddies, didn't understand that one man's granite counter tops were another man's mold infested bathroom.....both would have to be torn out and redone.drjimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05647484115197408897noreply@blogger.com
