First you buy location. Then it's the building meaning the construction, maintenance of said construction, and the design / style.

You can't change the location or the structure itself and don't need to you have an iconic building on the most famous street in town.

The interior even if it needed a total re-do isn't going to set you back much, relatively speaking. If it had granite it would have to be re-done anyway in a couple of years because that shit is going out of style f-a-s-t. I saw a listing the other day that said granite refrigerator, wtf? Is the themostat knob a small rock or something?

When you see stuff like that it's time to admit granite has jumped the shark.

Re-do-away I say, so it's to your taste and when you're done you'll have perfect place.

The issue with 2601 Ocean is the price but it is pretty big at 1,400 + sq. ft.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140004705538204727.post-986794543734910652010-01-29T11:05:56.797-08:002010-01-29T11:05:56.797-08:00I know El Bee, it's because you love us!I know El Bee, it's because you love us!Mike in LBCnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140004705538204727.post-91378183866537810102010-01-27T15:13:30.805-08:002010-01-27T15:13:30.805-08:00Anon,

It ain't the money (there is none), it ain't the fame (I'm anonymous), and it ain't because of too much free time (writing content on airplanes has become a ritual).

I think I'll have to go with: self-education and creative outlet.

Glad you're enjoying the blog!el beehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14187665973956068496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140004705538204727.post-90530475483741051972010-01-27T14:55:50.402-08:002010-01-27T14:55:50.402-08:00el bee, you really are a genius.

If he was able to resist the allure of HELOC money during the last 10 years (big if), he should have stacks of equity in this place.

"If not a dump inside"--that's the big question, innit?

Trust me, there is a very specific reason interior shots continue to be excluded after 10 weeks on the market.

I agree that IF it's nice inside (no mentions of upgrades in the description--what does that tell you?) this is desirable. If not a dump inside it's desirable -- the 70s retro look on the outside is a plus, everyone knows that building.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
